As a Mechanical Engineer, I independently problem-solved mechanical issues with ambiguous requirements, designed new 3D CAD components in SolidWorks with 2D drawings, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to manufacture and validate solutions. Some of my responsibilities included:
Root Cause Analysis: Triaged critical failures on Pepperoni Bandsaw with hands-on assembly teardowns and designed new bearing stack-ups informed by engineering fundamentals and tolerance analysis. Result: Saved >$12,000 in new parts.
Mechanical Design: Designed and implemented novel tensioning mechanisms and processes for dough conveyors, which consistently improved pizza quality and machine reliability. Result: Decreased maintenance time by at least 65%.
2D Drawings and GD&T: Generated high quality 2D drawings for >10 distinct parts to meet industry standards (ANSI Y-14.5).
Hands-On Machining: Reworked production parts with ~0.001” precision independently and in collaboration with technicians.
Communication: Led design reviews with cross-functional project stakeholders and produced detailed, concise documentation.
The document below details some of the projects I worked on:
Dough Flip Conveyor (with dough)
